Yup, every user does that. Never mind that it can be pages innocently returned in search results, links from other sites etc etc etc.

Our ISP helpdesk currently has SpyWare/Adware/IE Related faults as the number one source of calls by a significant margin.

I can provide you with plenty of exploits for WMP that can be hidden in videos, WMP can pop up Windows at random intervals throughout films as well as a host of other faults.

Not because of the fact they aren't advanced computer users that are likely to know about other browsers, never mind the fact that damn near every store bought PC ships with Windows and by association IE.

297960 2004-11-30 09:28:00 couple firefox related questions, are you able to remove the image place holders while images load. Like on some forums it has like a massive display of boxes before the icons load which is rather wack. Any setting to remove this?

Also er like when you're filling in forms and such and like for example entering a password, if you do ctrl + a to try and select all of the characters in the box it actually selects the whole page. Anyway to fix this?

What little amount of time you lose in opening Firefox is more than compensated for by Firefox's much faster opening of webpages compared to IE.
