298106 2004-11-30 05:38:00 I bought a PQI one a while back, cheap and good.

I have found the PQI ones (red clear plastic case), and the A-Data ones very compact, and much more convenient than a bulkier one.

298107 2004-11-30 05:42:00 I agree :-)

However we're talking a few mm here on the size of a matchbox... Not something I'd split hairs over, nor pay much more than a dollar extra for ;-)

298109 2004-11-30 06:23:00 Yes, all USB is backward compatable. Try reading the specs of each, to look for a difference. Or perhaps a Google (http://www.google.co.nz) could help :). george12 (7)

Yes, all devices listed as USB 2.0 are backwards compatable. 'USB 2.0' is just a mark/reminder.. of the transfer speed being 480Mb/sec (if I remember correctly). But off course, it won't always transfer at that maximum speed.

I'd get USB 2.0 in your case, simply for slightly extra future-proof purposes.

Maybe by the time you get a new PC, USB 3.0 may be out :)

298111 2004-11-30 06:33:00 USB 3.0? Goodness me!

Following the same pattern as 1 -> 2, USB 3 should be 19,200MB/sec :p:D

298113 2004-11-30 06:36:00 The jetflash-a and jetflash are both USB 2, they just look different. Growly (6)
298114 2004-11-30 06:51:00 Transcend is a very good USB Flash, but these days, it doesn't really matter what you get, they're all of pretty good quality.

Kind Regards,

298115 2004-11-30 07:51:00 I have a Lexar 256Mbyte Secure Jumpdrive from www.flashcards.co.nz - great service and good prices.

If you use this drive in WIndows (I don't) you get a secure area for storage.
