298550 2004-12-01 06:04:00 today i recieved my brand new Enermax EG425P-VE SFMA, Dual Fan, 420W ATX PSU , after many rave reviews for it both here and elsewhere on the internet. Anyway i installed it all and went to turn it on from the back and ---BANG--- ---BRIEF SPARK--- , S**T , i throught my baby could be fried , anyway after plugging in my old psu and turning on the computer i was calmed by the post scan beep , anyway turned out the power supply was faulty and im going to have to get it replaced - better then replacing a whole computer though. The good people at ascent are organisging the replacement so i should get a new one soon. So in conclusion i had a bad day noone (22)
298551 2004-12-01 06:09:00 Ha! At last, my theory can be proven correct. You can get a 'bad' batch of a 'good' brand which is no better than a 'good' batch of a 'bad' brand :p ~~~~~ s y ~~~~~ (2054)
298552 2004-12-01 06:10:00 yes , yet i wish it could have been proven on someone else - yet their after sale service seems very good noone (22)
298553 2004-12-01 06:41:00 I have always liked acent for that reason.

Ascent seems to be very good on service. Afterall, you can't blame them for the fault

298555 2004-12-01 06:46:00 Yep,

The brand is responsible for the quality of the product
The seller is responsible for the quality of the service
Random chance is responsible for what actually happens

Enermax (good) + Ascent (good) = CHANCE (bad) = -- BANG --

The question is were the manufacturers aware that there was a fault, pre shipping.

Like "fujitsu" with all those faulty drives they are being sued over.

298558 2004-12-01 09:12:00 Ask for an overnight forward replacement noone. You shouldn't have to wait while they organise to send the broken one back. E|im (87)
