298308 2004-11-30 20:08:00 Some time ago I wrote asking for help - I was having nothing but trouble with these devices. The replies indicated I was wasting my time - the advice given was ignore the things, use ordinary write once CDs. Then my favourite technician paid me a visit. He understood my problem - I was trying to move stuff between my desktop and laptop by means of CD-RW disks. Not too much to ask seeing that all the publicity was "You can use these like a floppy"
But rarely could I get the things to function. Sometimes they would, then the next day - nothing.
P bless his cotton socks pointed out that you must use the same program to write to the disks and make sure they are even the same issue of the same program. He sorted my computers out so that I am now using the same version of Nero (a late one) and voila everything is working perfectly. Hope this helps others.

298309 2004-11-30 20:27:00 Correct Thomas. Like if u use directcd (part of CD Creator), for copying to cdr's/cdrw's unless u "finalise it" nothing else (or noone else) will be able to read the cd / use that cd unless:

You finalise it, or the other computer / person has directcd, or whatever program, installed as well, so the cd can be read.
