298152 2004-11-30 03:35:00 Does anyone know if Google Toolbar is available for Mozilla Firefox.
I am particularly interested in the Autocomplete function which is sadly lacking in Firefox.
A standalone Autocomplete extension would do just as well.

298155 2004-11-30 06:06:00 My earlier version of Firefox had the Google toolbar installed with no problems.

When I upgraded to Firefox 1.0, it told me I couldn't have it - an annoyance I've been living with.

Jim B's link raised my hopes. But in spite of the download link giving info for the Google version required, Firefox 1.0 still won't download it "to protect" me.

Can anyone explain this? (Just my own security settings too high or somesuch?)
And is there a work-around?

298156 2004-11-30 06:21:00 Jims link worked for my firefox 1.0. I just had to click the 'edit options' button on the warning popup and give it permission to install.
Thanks Jim. Google Toolbar was the only thing I missed about IE :)

298157 2004-11-30 06:34:00 When I moved to the first Mozilla (Way Back), I had the toolbar on fine.
But as soon as I went to FireFox, It didn't work.

I have missed it ever since.

Kind Regards,

There is hope..

The post from 4bes encouraged me to try the link again.
His reference to a "warning popup" mystified me at first (Firefox doesn't do popups, which is one of its charms).
But once I registered the Edit button to the right of the yellow-backed message at the top of the page, I could manage the instructions from then on.

So it's worth another try.

298159 2004-11-30 08:03:00 It will/will not work depending on how 'googlish' it is feeling.

Its certainly worth a try though :)
