| 298948 | 2004-12-02 03:29:00 | Help help help..Using xp pro I have lost the disc drive. My scanner wasn't working properly so I uninstalled the software and now the disc drive won't work to reinstall it. Tried reverting the drive with Go-back but the disc drive still won't work. Any help appreciated..Ron.. |

| 298949 | 2004-12-02 03:39:00 | You mean the disk drive or the cd rom?? Try going into the BIOS, see if it shows there, or the disk drive is enabled in the BIOS. Or go to device manager. See if anything shows X or something.... |

| 298950 | 2004-12-02 19:12:00 | Thanks for the reply. It is the CDRom that is the problem. Device manager shows it's connected, no X showing. How do I look at the Bios? have no idea how to do that. Regards Ron.. |

| 298951 | 2004-12-02 19:19:00 | Hmm different motherboards have different ways of getting into the BIOS. This is by pressing F1, F2, F10, or the Delete key. When u bootup it MIGHT tell u what key to press to get into BIOS. When u bootup now, DOES it show the cdrom on the post screen?? When your system starts detecting the IDE devices?? And can u open the cdrom now??? power going to it?? |
