298778 2004-12-01 19:37:00 Hi
My kids are giving me grief about how long they spend on http://www.injustice.net.nz/
It's causing arguments between the kids as to who's turn it is, they are on the computer when they should be doing jobs, homework etc. in short they are on this site far too much & it's becoming an addiction with the pair of them.

I want to can their access to the site, what's the best way to block them accessing it?
Win98 IE6
Thanks

298779 2004-12-01 19:47:00 What ever you do could be undone if they are smart enough to figure out what it was but you could try an entry in your hosts file or if you are on ADSL you may have a router that can block ip addresses. PaulD (232)
298780 2004-12-01 19:50:00 If you have something like Internet Security block it thru Parental control. Spacemannz (808)
298781 2004-12-01 21:34:00 With Internet Explorer open have a look under help click contents and index then scroll down to Controlling Access to inappropriate internet content you should find all the info how to restrict access to sites.
Also if you have Spybot installed you can block access to Internet options from there so it may slow them down trying to unblock the site.
That is under tools/IE tweaks

298782 2004-12-01 22:03:00 Putting the URL into your Hosts file is the quickest and easiest way, as long as the sprogs aren't savvy enough to figure that one out - or come to Press F1 to ask how to get back in like one of mine once did. :D

You can use a batch file to turn the Hosts file on and off as required but that will have to be done while they are not looking, of course.

298784 2004-12-01 23:02:00 Put it in the hosts file and route it to www.disney.com or 127.0.0.1 or similar. ninja (1671)
298785 2004-12-01 23:04:00 You could buy a super server with $20,000 worth of professional internet access control software - or simply get the ministry of education to give it to you for free...
