299156 2004-12-02 10:47:00 How is one OT thread worse then another?

And as i'm sure you have noticed they are allowed,so perhaps you could go whinge at the admins rather then crap in a thread?

I take it it was a push mower Met's, that's what my dad bought mum and she used it.

Then go and find something useful to do than shouting about an off topic post started by a valued contributor to this F1.

But I digress.

Got my wife a set of chrome mag wheels and sticky tyres for an anniversary once and she still reminds me about in a somewhat bemused way. Often uses it as an example to lady friends about how neanderthal I am. They also look at me strangely. I sort of thought it broadly came under the female acceptable gift range of fashion accesssories.
Never have understood women.
Sort of what makes them fascinating.

How is that if a man got a lawnmower for a gift (anniversary present) he'd be stoked and impressed about how thoughtful it was of his wife but buy a washing machine (or stove/vacumn cleaner/drier etc) for the wife and you lack romance and empathy ?
:-)

299161 2004-12-02 11:35:00 Sorry, Highlander,

I can't explain that properly at this hour of the night .
But it comes down to the idea of " romance . "
And that's different for everyone, after all .

But mainly we women go for what you guys would call sloppy stuff for that .
Your practical verson may be fine for some of the the middle-aged to elderly .
Equally, those women may still expect some romance in their lives - and get pissed off if it doesn't happen .

299162 2004-12-02 19:02:00 My brother bought his wife a home laundry (ie washer , dryer, super tub) and in the card he presented her with the HP papers so she could make the payments. theotherone (1421)
299163 2004-12-02 20:43:00 One of my better ideas was a Air New Zealand mystery weekend (Do they still have them). We finished up at Nugget Point in Queenstown. You don't know where you are going till you arrive at the airport. This can't be catorgarised as "weird' but it sure beats a washing machine for romance. Dally (6292)
299164 2004-12-02 20:46:00 Well, it looks to me like the men have the right ideas with respect to this anniversary gift buying thing. I'm going to have a crack at keeping the tradition alive, so roll on March, I can't wait now that I have decided what to get my wife.

H/P papers in the card is a fantastic idea too, although that presents a little probelm, does anyone know of a good computer parts wholesaler who offers H/P rather than the usual terms of trade?
