| 299498 | 2004-12-03 21:53:00 | My computer runs Windows 98 SE with 195MB of ramm. I have recently installed the above, but find I can no longer connect to the internet, e-mail etc unless I disable Personal Firewall. Even then I can not connect to NAV Update. I tried to configure Firewall but got a Script Error Message to say there is an error in the nisplug.dll file. Symantec Help have given up after a week to say that it is a likely Windows fault. I am not so sure as there is no such file in the Windows directories. At one stage Symantec did forward a programme to uninstall, re-install and re-boot NIS2005, but was useless as it only covered up to NIS2003. Since then they have not been keen that I uninstall using Control Panel and then try another install. I had thought that I might drag the nisplug.dll from the CD disk into the programme on C-drive. I have heard that programmes could be re-installed without unistalling the original, but I am not sure of this. Fortunately I have installed Roxio GoBack which can go back in time to undo any mistakes I might make. I would appreciate help as without the Firewall I feel unprotected. |

| 299499 | 2004-12-03 22:08:00 | nisplug.dll might be a hidden file. Thats why Windows cant normally see it, if u search for it. You have to show hidden files. Whats the exact error message to do with nisplug.dll?? Any number in the error that appears?? |
