viruses stil on drive - 3

what's wrong with AVG? - the infected file is a trojan "BSW.Perfect.B" help please

299417 2004-12-03 10:12:00 Try in safemode as the Trojan has been started and believe it or not, windows is protecting it.
The trojan doesn't start in safemode.

Also, are you using the AVG 6 version or the new replacement free AVG 7 ?

299419 2004-12-03 20:00:00 Hi Jayal

Looking at your trojan, I think it is called PSW.Perfect.A (or B/C). It is a keylogger program which records all the keystrokes made on your computer and then fires off this information to its writer.

It is important that you change all your passwords after you have removed this trojan/malware, as you don't know what information has been compromised.

According to Symantec here (securityresponse.symantec.com), this program/trojan can be uninstall via Add/Remove in Windows, so have a read of that article and see if you can find it listed like they describe.

299420 2004-12-04 03:36:00 hi jen, and thanks - you're right it's PSW.Perfect.B - there's no uninstall.exe with it so i used the add/remove utility but "it" was still there - hence the original post - will try in safe mode when back home and also change passwords jayal (1291)
