| 299620 | 2004-12-03 07:55:00 | A cheap way is get an old psu fan (80mm) and run it at 7v, ie connect to the Red & Yellow wires from your psu. Another way is to use a 5w resistor in series with the fan, I find 27-33 ohm gives around 9-10v and a huge reduction in noise. Make an adaptor or bracket to use one on your cpu heatsink. | rmcb (164) | ||
| 299621 | 2004-12-03 08:04:00 | i would try to find a varible speed fan that will speed up when the case temp gets high. this will help stop any overheating in the summer. | tweak'e (174) | ||

If you want the best silent fan > then you could import some SilentX fans. I had a Thermaltake Silent fan before the DSE one and it was a lot noisier. |

| 299624 | 2004-12-03 10:11:00 | I just undid my 600Mhz overclock (that's INCREASING by 600mhz not increasing TO 600Mhz!!), and took away the case fans. Still runs nice and cool. But the bloody Intel stock fan is a bit noisy. Cheers George |
