299296 2004-12-02 23:07:00 The HP Learning Centre have another round of courses beginning soon, including Linux 101 and 201, Networking 101 and lots of other goodies. Check them out here (hplearningcenter.com).

For those who have not heard of them before the courses are done online and are free. See the "How courses work" on the right-hand side of the above page. The only catch is the adverts on the course pages but they are not too obtrusive. I have done a few of them and found them quite useful, picking up some good tips here and there.

Have fun. :-)

299301 2004-12-03 06:48:00 Thanks Susan
Slightly tempted by Powerpoint - but could be a bit basic for me.

Wish they had "streaming audio" - all facets :(

.....however, hopefully you will keep us all posted next time too !!

299303 2004-12-04 03:01:00 Jack: There have been introductory Excel courses in the past so there are bound to be more . I will let you know when I see one .

Misty: Don't be put off by the elementary nature of the course - I have done introductory courses on programs that I am very familiar with and picked up some good tips .

> . . . . . however, hopefully you will keep us all posted next time too !!

I sure will . :-)

299304 2004-12-04 03:39:00 Must supprt Susan on this. I have taken several of their courses and even the apparently basic ones often contain good hints. A lot depends on the tutor, but they have all been worth a look. If you enroll, you can keep copies of the notes. Sometimes you need to "View as one page" and then find and select the "Print View" version. Recommended. Scouse (83)
