300191 2004-12-06 16:36:00 I have been signed up with IHug for three days and received the following from Ashshampoo News this morning.
I certainly did not advise them of my address.

Your client does not support HTML emails. Please let us know, whether you like to receive text emails. (jackgru@ihug.co.nz / 1900445)

300192 2004-12-06 17:01:00 Report abuse demand to know who released you add all the normall noises.

Ask ihug if they want you to protect their ISP server, or if infact they are involved in spam, and want to recieve as much spam as possible on their server, this sort of comment generally gets a responce.

300194 2004-12-06 19:20:00 No. I have not signed up anywhere for free spam. I have never had any dealings or communication with this Shampoo mob. Never even heard of them.

300196 2004-12-06 19:34:00 I phrased my reply wrong....

Go to the IHUG website and sign up for the virus and spam filters.

They are free and work quite well

Also you cannot go past the junk e-mail senders list in Outlook.

Select offending e-mail
Click "actions"
Click "junk e-mail"
Click "add to junk senders list"

After posting your email address on here for a spambot feeding frenzy, it sure is. ;-)

300198 2004-12-06 20:00:00 If you used a reasonably common logon name then they don't need someone to release your details as they can just guess it.
I made that mistake and suffer from it all the time. I have three different e-mail addresses but only the one that is a common name actually gets any spam at all.

300199 2004-12-06 20:10:00 My e-mail address will be changed as soon as xtra hooks me up to jetstream so I'm not greatly worried about it at present

If you have only just signed up with Ihug three days ago, then why are you changing to xtra for Jetstream? Let me know if you want your addy removed from that post and I can edit it out for you.
