Why do you need to upgrade it? You are unlikely to be able to allow faster CPU etc. by upgrading your bios. Usually there is a specific reason to upgrade a bios (a bug in existing bios etc.). It is quite different from flashing a DVD drive or similar to add more functionality.

What is your specific reason for upgrading your bios?

300032 2004-12-06 07:49:00 What problem do you have that a bios upgrade will solve? This is not some program like Everest which is recommending a bios upgrade is it? Jen C (20)
300033 2004-12-06 07:59:00 if its not broken dont fix it, a false move and then you have a new paper weight Prescott (11)

You can ignore that advice it gives, it is not necessary to update your bios unless you have a specific issue which a bios upgrade fixes.

It can add more functionality, eg larger Hard Drive support etc, but can also make your PC not go at all if the flash goes wrong and you end up with a dead motherboard.
