300037 2004-12-06 05:25:00 Having a cluttered C drive, I installed RegSeeker as suggested in the PC World to have a cleanup.
The problem now, is what do I do when it finds over a thousand files, saying most are invalid, or have invalid extensions.
How do I know that by deleting these files my computer won't be damaged?.
There are warnings about possible damage on the site and I am holding fire until some guru can offer some help.
Using XPpro.
Any help appreciated..

300038 2004-12-06 05:53:00 Any registry cleaner has the potential to "over-clean" your registry and cause problems, you use them at your own risk. I see that RegSeeker has an option to backup before deletion, so it would be wise to do this first. There is also a comment on their site about RegSeeker possibly damaging the Add/Remove panel in Windows, and they offer a repair fix that can be downloaded if that occurs.

Make sure you have read any help/instruction files supplied with the program first.

Just have RegSeeker delete them. Windows often goes and puts a few of them back again anyway, so no harm will be done. If you are worried then set a restore point prior to running RegSeeker and ensure that the option for making a backup is chosen (it is normally, by default).
