| 299810 | 2004-12-05 23:03:00 | I want to email out a 'WEEKLY SPECIALs' newsletter to my customers. I have been just emailing it out using OE6 to the person on the top of the list and BCCing it to all the others - but I'm not happy with this method - which has really just been a stop-gap measure. Does anyone know of an easy to use, free or low cost program (or add-on for OE6) or any method that would give better, more professional results? I currently have less than 100 customers and I like to direct my customers to my website for full details of the new Weekly Specials - each week. Any guidance or ideas or ways to do the job better would be much appreciated. Thanks |

| 299811 | 2004-12-05 23:11:00 | We use Group Mail www.infacta.com But it's not free. If it's a small number, maybe use a script on a *nix box would be easiest. Or setup a mailing list (like a yahoo group, or a proper mailing list) |

| 299813 | 2004-12-05 23:39:00 | Netscape Messenger does it very well. Just address it to the first recipient eg customers@yourdomain, select the next recipient in your Customers folder in your Address Book, hold Shift, select the last recipient, and Click BCC - easy as. | Greg S (201) | ||

They have asked to be notified. THIS IS NOT SPAM. I HAVE NO INTENTION OF ANNOYING PEOPLE WITH SPAM or SENDING THEM ANYTHING THEY DON'T WANT. I do provide a removal from this mailout notice. The question I asked was how to automate sending out legitimate notification of new weekly specials easily. I repeat, I am NOT a spammer. |

Aye but these days unfortunatly we all traed a very fine line, it is very difficult, When does a customer update on email become spam. A postage paid customer update to customers you regularly invioce is sometimes regarded as Junk mailing today, rhe spammers bopth @ and snail have so annoyed the market that almost anything in the way of advertising that can be avoided is classed as offensive. You can watch pay tv let alone free to air with out being bonbarded wuith advertising. The holloywood equivelent of the riaa is trying to make it illegal to edit out or zip advertising on DVD's. Advertising is out of controll. There's a new java bandwith hogging beastie turned up in fire fox on this site, sits right beside the scrool bar and I keep hitting it, I hate it,any body know how to make firefox KILL IT. Probably put their buy the same people who decided to seal this months issue to, sorry if I can't flick through it, and see if I like it, I dont buy it. D. |
