299690 2004-12-04 10:04:00 Hi there, I know this is probably not the right place to ask about cellphones, but i'll see if anyone can help anyhow.
Well, I have a Samsung SCH-n105 mobil phone connected with telecom.
I've been having problems trying to make the phone stay turned on when I press on the "End" button (used to turn it on and off).
What it does is that when I goto turn it on, I have to keep my finger on the button to keep it on or else it will just turn off. But because of this, I can't use the other keys on the keypad.

Anyone know if this is easily fixable?

Thanx for any advice :)

299691 2004-12-04 10:17:00 Oh ... My .... GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the EXACT same phone with the EXACT same problem (among many, many others)!!

But however, I beleive you are out of luck mate. I took it to a repair guy and he couldn't fix it *sigh*.

Does it do it when plugged into the power supply, or just with battery?

299692 2004-12-04 10:25:00 Don't know just how relevant it may be, but a link to this (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) thread might at least educate you about the phone... Hell, it's just all my problems with it :p.

It's a month or 2 old, so bear with the slow loading time. Go have a cup of strong coffee. Don't drop the phone in :D

HTH Cheers George

299693 2004-12-04 10:25:00 oh darn

299694 2004-12-04 10:28:00 It won't be the button, becuase it _does_ turn on...

I think it will be a power supply issue - the phone "thinks" it is flat, so doesn't try to stay on. Dig up the multimeter and tell us the voltage of the battery (with the phone on). Across + and - terminals (outer two on back of battery).

Cheers

299695 2004-12-04 10:37:00 the battery says on label area 3 . 7V . but unfortunatly I don't have a multimeter to test it .

i see u put on your topic that yours worked after cleaning? but then it went bung after you dropped it? lol

the battery meter on the phone says its fully charged .

OK, I see...

Not much I can think of then. It's such an old phone, it may in fact be time to say goodbye. Sell it to a mate for $5 or something.

Sorry I can't help you. Wait to see what others have to say of course.

George

299697 2004-12-04 11:01:00 oops made mistake about charger..
yes it does work with charger, but only for about 10 seconds.
i'm not to familiar with the lights on charger. Its always showing orange flashing.
perhaps its just the battery... i know where i maybe able to get one if that could do the trick.. or maybe its an electrical fault with phone or software..

299698 2004-12-04 11:13:00 AHAH

It is the same as mine. Orange flashing = fault. DEFINIETELY a power problem then.
