299712 2004-12-04 09:57:00 Hi

I have my drive partitioned to 10gb and 30gb and another HD which is 80gb . the 30gb hard drive, I have used 19 . 1gb, however, my computer and windows explorer quote my usage as 5 . 36gb . I have to highlight all folders in the drive and select properties to get the correct information .

My 80gb HD, it was stating I had 14 . 2gb left, when in actual fact I had only 500mb remaning . It now states, after I have deleted files etc . as still having 14 . 2gb left, or 60 . 1gb used, when i have infact used 61 . 9gb .

Is there a way of fixing this problem?

Thanks for your help

299713 2004-12-04 10:05:00 I wouldnt worry about it. Windows is NEVER right!

How much does it say if u highlight the icon?? of the hdd in My computer or windows explorer. With whatever version of windows youre using.

299715 2004-12-04 10:13:00 Might be a fix if u havent updated your version of windows at all.

I would check out the ms site. Unless its like that if u havent cleaned the temp files etc out ... what version of windows have u got?

299718 2004-12-05 23:40:00 Try doing it in safe mode. Scandisk and defrag Spacemannz (808)
299719 2004-12-05 23:43:00 how do you get into safe mode on windows ME, as there is no way to get options when starting up such as pushing F8 in other versions of windows.

Cheers

299720 2004-12-05 23:46:00 I think ME has safe mode doesnt it? Ive never used it. As soon as the system boots press F8 down.... You maybe pressing F8 too late, if the options screen doesnt appear. Spacemannz (808)
299721 2004-12-05 23:49:00 has safe mode but i have tried many times to access it by way of F8 and hasnt worked, will try later
