1357170 2004-12-06 08:40:00 Have small home network, 1 dsktp running XP home, 1 laptop running W2000 pro, connecting to Jstream thru switch and Dynalink ADSL modem. All worked fine until I re-installed OS on desktop. Now Desktop gets ADSL connect on boot but gets bored and goes home (ie cannot ping anything other than LAN), but lappie gets internet all the time. Have tried all usual tricks (re-booting modem, querying modem thru browser), but only way to get Dsktp back onto internet is to re-boot, which is a pain.

Any clues?

1357177 2004-12-06 21:58:00 Yes, DHCP is enabled. Not sure what answer to next q is, but I can ping with no problems until the Desktop suddenly breaks the connection (usually after a period of inactivity). Meanwhile, the laptop hums along happily without a problem on the network. arfitty (2716)
