300613 2004-12-07 20:30:00 Hi People,
Anyone know how to get the win98se desktop items
to stay put where I drag them...?
Tried all the 'arrange icons' options in 'active desktop'...
life of their own atm :)

cheers
Pete

300614 2004-12-07 20:33:00 dont you use auto arrange in the arrange items place noone (22)
300615 2004-12-07 20:33:00 ^always works for me noone (22)
300616 2004-12-07 20:54:00 You could try www.midiox.com (www.midiox.com) Desktop Restore[/url] which gives you a right-click menu item "restore desktop" to the one you saved.

I haven't used it, but I have been told it is great, from a customer.

300617 2004-12-07 20:57:00 Or , most likely it is what noone suggests, take off the auto-arrange tick. Pheonix (280)
300618 2004-12-07 21:20:00 Why not put all your desktop items into a few relevant files and put an nice pic up to look up?

300621 2004-12-08 05:27:00 Thanks for replies but no banana !
I have tried , as i said all combinations of active desktop/ icon arrange....
auto arrange on, auto arrange off....
I have three icons....
my computer, recycle bin and folder with all shortcuts in it.
I like the minimalist approach
I just want them to stay where I drag them :)

cheers
