1361000 2013-11-28 20:30:00 I've got 15m out of standard Digitus cables no problems. haven't trued 20 though, pretty sure it would be fine.

HDMI over Cat5e/6 extenders have got a lot cheaper now too.

1361001 2013-11-28 21:02:00 "I looked online and the price we sell these cables for is literally twice the price Harvey Norman Australia sells them, which is literally twice the price American stores sell them for. Why do NZ customers have to pay 4x times the price for already over-priced cables?"

It's not just overpriced cables that are overpriced. There are many electronics good in NZ which are a total ripoff compared to overseas.

Jaycar is a good one for doing this, electronic components and associated things are quite often 3-10 times the price you can get them at eBay or even Farnell or RS. It doesn't even make sense, it's not like Jaycar is a small company - they have dozens of branches all over Australia and NZ.

1361002 2013-11-28 22:53:00 I too have found that the 1.5M cables are pretty hopeless over longer distances, they just don't measure up. :(

Yeah me too, they tend to have a pretty significant drop in signal around the 1.6M mark.

1361003 2013-11-29 04:32:00 ^Far out, they are going for a song too; "Ohm on the range". More range = much more of the ohms but the noise level does drop at one end of the path. :( R2x1 (4628)
1361004 2013-11-29 08:59:00 Don't forget the Directional arrow so the signal knows which way to go.
These Monster cables really are not reversible!
I just tried making a coat hangar out of monster cable; total fail.
