1359906 2013-11-24 00:38:00 If you want the new Google Experience Launcher on the Nexus 7: www.androidpolice.com

Also gets you the transparent status/nav bars.

1359907 2013-11-24 06:40:00 Got my N5 today, it's *such* a nice phone in so many ways!!

KitKat on my N7 is great too, hanging for my GPE HTC One to get the update any day now too :-)

1359908 2013-11-24 20:41:00 My Nexus 7 updated itself yesterday. I too don't like the white icons on the top bar.

I don't know if the changes to the Mail app occurred as part of the OS update, or whether that was a separate process, but it happened at about the same time. Whatever, I don't like the changes there. It is less user friendly than the old design. I often have difficulty working out whether these developer twonks decide to make a change for change's sake, or to improve functionality/security. The changes to the Mail app seem to be in the former category.

1359909 2013-11-24 23:28:00 I don't like the changes to the mail app as well. I think that it was a part of the kit-kat update . It now looks like Gmail. paulw (1826)

1359911 2013-11-26 04:08:00 There's not a lot of "Up front" changes. I like the Google Experience Launcher and took that from the N5 and put it onto my N7.

I noticed that it was quite a bit snappier in general use. Jellybean wasn't bad, per-say, but Kitkat felt that *little* bit more responsive. Little things like the minor delay when unlocking, seemed to disappear.

I'm still wanting to get this "Tap and Pay" sorted, with Wallet. It wants me to have a US Social Security # though to "verify" my identity :(

1359914 2013-11-26 07:41:00 I have a Nextbook 7 with Ice cream OS on, would it be able to update automatically or would I have to install manually?
Hardly use it, mainly for when the lappie is busy.

If it hasn't auto-updated to Jelly Bean from Ice Cream Sandwich, it's unlikely to auto-update to KitKat.
