| 1360968 | 2013-11-27 04:17:00 | For anyone who is interested, I've noticed that the Herald is running a series of articles covering the local game developers scene. They have been interviewing developers on the Media Design School Game Programming Degree, Sidhe Interactive in Wellington and a bunch of other companies. The bulk of the games being developed are for mobile platforms and some for PC. There seems to be quite a lot of employment opportunities out there if you have the right stuff. Other than them, there isn't much of a game developers scene in NZ> Years ago, friend of mine got into this, he then went to England and worked for Virgin who were doing games at that time. He ended up going off game stuff and got into TV and movie graphics, worked at BBC and other places for a while, now he's head of CGI at Weta.... |

| 1360970 | 2013-11-27 17:53:00 | Considering the size of our country I'd say we have done ok. I think it's growing ok. We mostly seem to be made up of small teams. From what I've read there are about half a dozen in Auckland. I guess it's a niche market that's on the look out for people with specialist skills. | Webdevguy (17166) | ||
