| 300884 | 2004-12-12 19:38:00 | >Hmm... this may also call for an "acquire famous usernames" challenge..... A word of warning. Anyone who thinks it is clever to do this will get their butt banned fast, and I might be tempted to leave it that way for a long time. I said it in my original post and I'm clarifying it here: I and the other mods will take a vary dim view of having our time wasted by this kind of stupidity. Just so we are all clear on that point. |

| 300885 | 2004-12-12 23:26:00 | Will this upgrade include enhancing the search facility so that results are summarised by thread instead of post? And can the number of search results be extended to something like 100? That would really be helpful, especially for finding an answer more easily without having to create yet another thread for questions that have been repeatedly answered. Just a suggestion. D. McG |

| 300886 | 2004-12-13 01:02:00 | IMHO, the search in vBulletin seems to be better than with Jive. The search results seem to be more accurate, and are by thread rather than post. You guys will, no doubt, have to decide for yourselves :o) |

| 300887 | 2004-12-13 06:56:00 | I think most people will like it, a couple will take a while to adjust and will spend that time moaning "in the old forums I could do xyz" when really they can do the same and probably more in vb, they've just gotta figure out how. Then you'll get staunch detractors who'll pick at every little thing that they dont like. Not naming names ;) I've got a bit of experience in nursing forum communities through software change... I dont think this will be much different, but I do think that for the most part the majority will be pleased with the change. |
