301593 2004-12-11 04:11:00 The thing is Since I have upgrade to Windows XP Pro from ME I have had this problem (I think, I am not too sure here) then a few months back when I had problems with my other monitor(Do a search back on my name to find the threads) dad put in another Graphics Card in to see if my on-board Graphics Card was stuffed( & it was not) I was using a NVIDA(Cant remember the rest of the name, but I think There is a thread about our computer specks & I posted the name of it there) Graphics Card & for some reason the problem disappeared( Not too sure why?) then the other day dad removed the NVIDA(Cant remember the rest of the name) Graphics Card & then this problem came back.

I don’t think dad has that Graphics Card any more (I think he put it in to another computer he was fixing), so I cant ask him to put it back in

So what do you guys think?

godfather? Any ideas :)

301595 2004-12-11 04:38:00 If u installed with an upgrade of XP and installed over ME, then yup I wouldnt be surprised if things didnt work properly.

So, after u installed the new videocard and removed the Nvidia card (if thats what u had), did u remove the videocard entry from device manager if its still there and uninstall the nvidia drivers as well?? And install the right drivers for the videocard u have now??

Other than that, if the XP u have is full / not an upgrade, I wld reinstall XP by itself from scratch. That shouldnt definitely fix things (If u installed XP over ME previously).

:(, bugger bad choice of words here

Ok, let me reword that

I did NOT installed XP over ME

XP is a Fresh Install on a new hard drive

Ummm, ok, When we did the upgrade/install on the new hard drive one of the problems I had was that when I try & watch the TV the picture was like the above screen shots, not too sure what happened after that,

then a few months back I tried new monitor & then it started to play up (at that time I was using the on-board Graphics Card, & dad thought that I might of stuffed up the on-board Graphics Card) so to debug/check to see if it was the on-board Graphics Card or if it was the new monitor we put in the NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX 440 Graphics Card to test it out( & during the time I had the NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX 440 Graphics Card in I could watch my TV fine)

& we think it is the monitor so the other day dad removed the NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX 440 Graphics Card (because he wanted to use for another computer he was fixing) & Now I am back to square one with no ideas why I have this problem & How to fix it & I am now back using my win me drive( I have two hard drives in this computer) to watch TV :(.

I have tried reinstall my TV at lest once maybe twice.

& as far as I am aware the drives for both NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX 440 Graphics Card & my on-board Graphics Card (Which is: S3 Graphics ProSavage DDR) are installed but windows is only picking up on the S3 Graphics ProSavage DDR on-board Graphics Card.

I am thinking that my PixelView Pro TV card does not like XP????

301597 2004-12-13 00:31:00 Hmm it does say this in the FAQ on the Prolink site

It has some compatibility issues with
1. VGA cards : Trident 9750/9850/9685 and S3 Savage 4 .
2. Motherboard : SiS620 motherboard.
This is because they can't support the TV Overlay mode. Therefore, you can't see video in Overlay mode.

This tv tuner card u have is a PCI card isnt it?? If so, the above probs may happen.... coz of the videocard.

These are the cards so it says on the site that are affected. Are one of these yours?
