302367 2004-12-12 10:04:00 NEC ND 3500 16x combo with dual layer if you want it. $10 over your budget though. Murray P (44)

I would try here:-

Slightly over your budget but a good brand. You may want to shop around for a better price. Click on DVD Writers on the left navigation pane and you can filter the output with your own criteria.

Good brand there too. Did you notice that there was no bundled software?

302374 2004-12-12 10:21:00 AFAIK the Pioneer uses the NEC chip (as with LG and a few others) but it's not as functional as that used in the NEC. You could turn more functions on with firmware upgrades later, but I wouldn't count on it. Murray P (44)
302375 2004-12-12 10:23:00 what sort of functions are these ? noone (22)
