2004-12-12 04:19:00 | Hi, What do I change in Opera's preferences in order to be able to cut or copy text from pages on the screen? Also, when I go into PF1 forum, I can log in but can't copy or quote another post when posting a reply. Have found out how to log in to Opera's support forum after a lot of experimenting but can't copy text there as well. Have to print out the whole page. I downloaded Opera without Sun Java. Is that the reason? I don't want their Java until I know the problem has been fixed. Appreciate any help you can give me. Marg.

2004-12-12 05:42:00 | Thanks for replying Caesius. Running WinXP SP1. >>start it up again and see if the problem persists. Been there, done that. There's a security patch out now for Opera which should stop any probs with Java or else get that update SusanB was talking about from the Sun site - 1.4.2.06 Read that if there were any probs in Opera to check out Preferences options re: Javascript. Are you on Opera, and if so can you select and copy bits of text from the screen? Really want to get this sorted as I don't like printing out the whole page. Apart from that I am really enjoying Opera.

2004-12-12 05:55:00 | What happens when you block the text and right mouse / copy text? or block the text and ctrl + c? Might be the java. I have sun java installed here and the quote thing works. And copy works when i block the text

2004-12-12 22:00:00 | Thanks Spacemannz and Johnboy Tried all suggestions from here, on the net and in Opera's forum. Just wouldn't work at all. Got really shitty and uninstalled it. Will just keep on using IE and Avant Browser from here on in. Haven't had any problems at all with them. God I hate Mondays. Better go to Billy T's Humour post and have a laugh before I go out for lunch. Cheers and thanks once again. Marg.

2004-12-13 00:07:00 | There was a ver of Opera before 7.23 where the highlighted text wouldn't print out and the "selection' option under print was ghosted. Found that out at the Opera forum. Maybe update your Opera? HTH:)
