302903 2004-12-14 06:00:00 I am reasonably clued up,very advanced with Mr Gates OS and love Linux and
use Java a bit which I can usually get to do what I want.
I am also more than a bit long in the teeth.
Is there any "easy" solution to down loading and installing things in t g
such as nvu on this months PC w cd.
Any installations I have had in the past seem to have been by accident I am sure. I am running Xandros which is right up to date with the latest kernel.

302907 2004-12-14 06:24:00 NVU?

Do you mean:
www.nvu.com
Try:
tar xvzf filename.tar.gz

This will extract it.
Is it the source code or a .deb or .rpm binary?

Cheers
