how do i go abuot disablign an account in winXP
so that i may reactivate it at a latter date
at the very least jsut remove it from the welcome screen, and account management....

log on as ADMIN, controlpanel/ users/accounts = suspend, disable, delete.

there should be several options there.

Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users.

Select the user(s) you want to disable, click properties, and in the window that opens tick "Account is Disabled".

Not sure if it'll make much difference? You might need to specifically log in to the admin account though?

i just went in, and there were no options for disabling account
not even in safe mode

so how would one go abuot doign it via editing the registry?
