302796 2004-12-16 20:11:00 The layout looks good. I think the only important stuff is really just having to monitor what people put on it seeing as you say it has to be suitable for kids to. I don't think theres any major buggie... ~sy~ (95)

302801 2004-12-18 00:51:00 Really nice colours and layout

One thing though

no matter which categorey (irish, surgery, blonde etc) I select I get "all jokes" rather than just the irish jokes

not sure if that is a bug

here's what i am using (although for php it shouldn't make a difference)
firefox 8
ie6
win2k

302802 2004-12-18 01:30:00 forgot to say

drop down list box works for selecting the categories

off topic slightly it seems you are using server side checking for your textareas, does it seem better to you than javascript, as the javascript solutions i have been trying are too easy to break, and i have been looking at using a php solution

thanks

Thanks for that, will try fix it.

I have "never" used javascript before, I didn't even think of using it, I don't know why.

Here is a simplified example of an php email form that checks the text area.

<?php
$to = "email@email.com";
$subject = "Bloggsworld - $subject";

if (strlen($_POST['textarea_name']) >= 1000)
{
echo ("<p>Please keep it under 1000 characters</p>");
}

elseif ($_POST['textarea_name'] == "")
{
echo ("<p>Please include a message</p>");
}

else
{
mail($to, stripslashes($subject), stripslashes($message));
}
?>

I am not quite sure that this example will work, because I am still a beginner, but it is something like that, and pretty simple.

If you want, I can give you all the code I have done for my website, so you can have a look at it.

**goes and tidies up the complete mess of code**

Hope it helps (heh, hope I was talking about what you where talking about).
