304357 2004-12-17 02:12:00 news from /.

A new vulnerability has been announced in Internet Explorer, also affecting XP SP2, which can very easily be exploited by a malicious web site to completely spoof the address bar. The vulnerability is very similar to another vulnerability disclosed just about a year ago called the '%00' vulnerability, which also was widely exploited by phishers.

no patch at this time

solution??

304358 2004-12-17 02:16:00 I can't keep up with all these "new" vulnerabilities. Was this new today or amongst the flood of exploits announced yesterday....? b1naryb0y (3)
304359 2004-12-17 02:36:00 I agree use firefox. I just can't keep up with all the fixes and downloads needed just to use IE. Odin (227)
304360 2004-12-17 02:41:00 Opera is better than FF with the tabs. At least Opera opens sites in another tab. I tried FF, u haveta add then open the tabs if u want tabbing. Opera's is easier to configure. Speedy Gonzales (78)

I don't want to cause you to move from Opera (use it myself - it's the best!) but others may be interested to know that you can open links in new tabs in the background in Firefox by holding down Ctrl while clicking on the links. :)

304366 2004-12-17 03:47:00 also, if you have a 3button or wheel mouse, if you click on a link with middle button/scroll, it'll open in a new tab Edward (31)
