304148 2004-12-16 19:14:00 Using FDISK I cannot delete partitions in drive to start clean.
I have tried using all deletion options # 4,3,2,1 with no success. No option appears saying you are about to delete this partition etc. Suggestions please.

304149 2004-12-16 19:23:00 Are you trying to wipe the whole drive clean (which also contains the OS)? The installation CD for XP has options for removing and creating new paritions as part of the installation process.

If these partitions don't contain the OS, then you should be able to use the Disk Management tool of XP/W2K to delete the partitions within Windows.

304150 2004-12-16 19:23:00 I dont think u can use Fdisk for NTFS. What are you going to install ?? XP or other?? If XP, use the XP CD to do a clean install. That'll let you delete the partitions, when u go to install XP. Speedy Gonzales (78)
304151 2004-12-16 19:28:00 FDISK can work with NTFS partitions but it cannot delete NTFS partitions that are logical drives on extended partitions. godfather (25)
