303673 2004-12-16 04:35:00 I would like to be able to display more than 20 threads on a page. I can change the setting for within a thread (display more than 20 posts - I think the max is 40?), but I want to be able to display more than 20 threads. On the old forum I could display 100 threads on a page (and 100 posts per page). I would like to be able to display 100 threads/posts per page (it's way easier then to see all the recent posts, rather than having to flick through 2 or 3 pages).

What are the chances?

Mike.

303674 2004-12-16 05:10:00 its a admin thing i think - they must have made it so there is a max of 40 per page to keep loading time down - the other forum was less big then this i think so they would have allowed more threads per page noone (22)

It was an option in the old one - I could choose how many to display, from 15 to 100 (15, 30, 50, 100 maybe?).

Same here. I noticed that in the old forum I could simply change the 'thRange' value from 10 to 100 (or any other value I choose) in the Address bar. What irks me is that you can change the number of posts per page in a thread, but not the number of threads per page in a forum. Surely the software can be adaptable for these settings to be put in place.

On the whole, I'm getting used to the new forum, and like the ability to see a tooltip displaying at least part of the first post without having to spend time loading the thread, which comes in handy when the subject is ambiguous or lacks meaning.

Thanks for all your effort so far.

303677 2004-12-19 06:32:00 Just noticed I can do the same thing in this forum via the Address bar (note the 'pp' parameter):

pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

Similar for the General / OT forum, except the forum number (I think) is 5:
pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

Just something that extra bit handy for adding to one's bookmarks.

Can you please clarify where this happens because I don't see this? What browser are you using?

303680 2004-12-19 06:57:00 Hovering over the post subject in the main list shows a significant portion of the original post subject in a pop-up. Happens on all VBulletin forums as far as I know.

At least in IE6 it does, so you might have to venture into the "dark side" of MS browsers to see?

Ooooh! You are so right (as if you ever aren't). Doesn't show quite as much in Firefox as IE but Opera shows nothing at all! :o

Darn it, don't let that Beetle see this thread, whatever you do.... :(

Goes to wash mouth out after using IE.
