305337 2004-12-18 23:15:00 Hi Team

I am having a problem with the new forum that may be confined to my computer or incorrect usage of the Forum features.

If I add an emoticon, it shows correctly in preview but changes to html code when posted. If I then edit the post to remove the html and reinsert the emoticon it displays correctly. It will probably make a liar of me right now but if I insert a smilie here: pressf1.pcworld.co.nz this is the result.

Any ideas on why this is happening, or is it appearing OK on others' computers and only showing on mine?

Cheers

:badpc:IE 6.0.28 SP1, but should that make a difference to how a post is sent? Everything else works fine on any site I visit.

PS I assume that your browser had an English Public school upbringing.:p

305341 2004-12-18 23:31:00 But it isn't consistent GF, I've been using the WYSIWUG editor and haven't run in to the problem although, I've seen the result of other's problems :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :@@: :@@:

BTW Billy, I'm using Firefox in both Linux and Windows, I imagine that others with the problem are using different browsers to you and me.

And that's with IE.

So it's working now? Or sometimes...

I went looking for the problem, found it, and found how to put it right.

305344 2004-12-19 01:23:00 The insertion of the html link to the emoticon just indicates that the forum software understands that as a logical serious person you wouldn't like to be represented with the levity implied by the use of a graphic emoticon. An html link conveys the emotion, and for more trivial readers it gives them the option of seeing the image.:rolleyes; :nerd;

:cool; :thumbs;

I missed that thread.

No WYSIWYG until other issues are overcome then. :(
