304636 2004-12-18 03:39:00 uh... no. all the virtual drive programs i've had (Alcohol works best) re-mount the drives on boot-up. so the computer recognises my Alcohol virtual drives as standard SCSI DVD-Drives. It dosen't seem to mind there are no SCSI controllers in the system =\

also, it's not legal to crack games. the law allows you to create 1 copy for backup or archival purposes. that's all. virtual drives are legal, as you are backing up the games, and using the backups. cracking a game to play it with out a CD is not

For gods sake,Do you people just make crap up to suport your viewpoint?

NZ law states that you are allowed to make a backup, unless the wishes of the copyright holder forbid it.....and guess what....all comercial media has a tag sayin you are not allowed to make a backup.

Not that i personally care,As far as im concerened once you buy something its yours to do as you please up to the point of selling copies.....But if your going to go stating the law it would help if you had a read of it first.....

304637 2004-12-18 03:48:00 There is absolutly no point on CD emulation, because it is just eaiser to load a real CD into a drive than it is to load a virtual CD into a Virtual drive. I no-cd crack all the games I own (that I actually bought) because it saves me time, not having to search for a cd. Infact I just cracked Medal of Honor - AA.

I refuse to use real CDs that I've bought because I paid too much to ruin them by using them that way. Any image I make saves me scratches and increases the life of CDs. Furthermore, I find it much more effort to move two metres to the CD rack than to right click, then click twice more with the left mouse button.

Then again, I'm fat and lazy.

304638 2004-12-18 03:55:00 a real lazy person would use a crack, the effort required to make images of each game would be better used contemplating some cream chicken for tea..... Metla (12)
304639 2004-12-18 04:33:00 I just use no-cd cracks.

I own all the games of course ;). But anyway, a certain megagames was pointed out as a good source of .. er .. good game reviews etc (among other things ;)).

I agree with Metla here. Anyway guys, Bruce is away, Chill certainly won't mind!, and I'm sure Jen will be nice here. Nothing wrong with such discussion as you do indeed own the game.

Cheers George
