| 305606 | 2004-12-19 11:47:00 | MPC is a strange format, which is apparently better than mp3 (this is of course debatable). Check here (http://www.musepack.net/) for info on the codec. To convert it to MP3 is a bit of a mission. You'll first need to convert it to MPC to WAV, then from WAV to MP3. This I find is the easiest way (well the only way I know how). First get the MPC decoder (www.musepack.net). Then convert the WAV's to MP3's with Wav2MP3 (http://wav2mp3lame.sourceforge.net/). You'll probably need to be fairly competent with the DOS prompt. - David |

| 305608 | 2004-12-19 11:56:00 | The word around the campfire is that converting from mpc to mp3 causes a noticible drop in quality,In which case what was already sugested maybe worth experimenting with. (mpc->wav->Mp3) If you did want a direct converter there are a few available. MPxchange, about two thirds of the way down teh page www.rarewares.org Arial Audio Convert www.xrlly.com Software is untested by me so use at your own risk. |
