| 305842 | 2004-12-20 01:24:00 | win2K I currently have Firefox v8, and am quite happy with it, but as version 1 is out, I thought I might as well upgrade Is there anything I should be aware of? is it simply a case of installing overtop of? or will i need to remove existing installation and then reinstall? and as for extensions will i need to reinstall them? Thanks Nigel |

It would be best to backup your bookmarks by going Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Export and save the bookmark.html onto your desktop. If I remember rightly, version 0.8 consisted of the extracted folder only (no exe self-installer), so you just need to delete the old Firefox folder to remove it. Don't try to keep any old themes/extensions as they most likely will no longer be compatible. You will find 1.0 manages themes/extensions differently, so just use in the inbuilt tools to download more. Once you have 1.0 installed, import your saved bookmarks via Manage Bookmarks > File > Import. |
