306181 2004-12-21 04:47:00 Well I have been trying out metlas little photoshop competition, using fireworks,
now I've decided that i need to learn to use photoshop, the problem I am having so far is that i can open my pngs created in a fireworks, but instead of there being multiple layers there is only one layer, I think there was a post on this ages ago, but I can't seem to find it

Is there anyway to send images with layers from fireworks to photoshop??

Thanks for any help

Nigel

306182 2004-12-21 05:26:00 You can save as or export Fireworks images as PSD (Photoshop) although, Photoshop will open and create PNG fine, I'm not sure whether the Fireworks info (layers, pallets....) will transfer over. Look at the save as or export settings in Fireworks to see if it will do so.

When you save/export images in Fireworks I asume it saves the layers or does it flatten or simplify the image?

306183 2004-12-21 05:38:00 when i save in fireworks the layers are not flattened (unless i want them that way) and they are editable when reopened, i'll try re-exporting them from fireworks

Thanks
