2004-12-21 09:01:00 Hi, can someone tell me how to save updates to a new location/or a disc? I mean updates i have already downloaded. thanks Kindel (6640)
2004-12-21 09:31:00 why do you want to? Surely they are automatically saved in your program files. theother1 (3573)
2004-12-21 09:34:00 Well I would say so they dont' have to be downloaded again, after a reformat. I would also like an answer to the question. ;) supergran (108)
2004-12-21 09:38:00 ms sometimes have an update cd with all the updates on it, the last one i have is from feb 04, its about time they release another one. it sure does save the download time  Prescott (11)
2004-12-21 09:48:00 AFAIK updates that are downloaded as part of the windows update process are installed and then the download deleted. To save for future instals you would have to download the larger updates intended for corporate use. PaulD (232)

2004-12-21 11:13:00 Update/SP information is also held in your i386 folders, although I'm not sure how much info is there from auto updates installed direct from the web. I suspect the info is just a record to prevent newer files being over written by older when you do a repair (this includes driver and dll files) and un-install info if the update can be un-installed Murray P (44)
2004-12-21 11:19:00 OK, im happy just to go with dling them manually from the microsoft downloads section. i can find out which updates i need by using Windows Update, then dl them manually. Genius! :D Kindel (6640)
