| 306253 | 2004-12-21 08:03:00 | For about the last week, or so, I have started to have the following two problems. 1. My system restore keeps getting deleted, so there are no restore points. The system is no longer making restore points and the ones I make are disappearing?? 2. Whenever I log on the Windows Firewall comes up and I have to turn the firewall on. Most strange. Anyone help? Thanks, Ian. :help: |

It is possible that your PC could be infected with one of these viruses (could also be affecting your antivirus if you have one). I'd suggest you do a full online virus scan to rule out this possibility. Hopefully now someone else here can add to this a link to a decent online virus scan :) Mike. |

Is it ticked to keep restore points? You also mentioned restore points being deleted. Is this all of them or just some of them. What will happen sometime is that your allocation for the restore point files are relatively small. Therefore, in order to keep itself to your allocation, it will keep the most recent point and delete the oldest ones. My :2cents: :2cents: |
