307081 2004-12-24 03:25:00 I'm looking at getting a new, fairly grunty notebook for "business" use. (Note that 'business' also includes the odd install of Battlefield or MOH ;))

It needs a...
DVD player (writer optional)
CD writer
60G hdd
network port (wireless optional)
15" screen minimum
512M ram min
fairly meaty vid card
winxp home (pro optional)

...basically a desktop replacement; weight is a fairly minor consideration.

The Asus A2500K in the current PCW (p29) is a prime candidate - I'm looking around $3000+gst

My main concern though is finance - somewhere like Noel Leeming would offer interest free finance, but I'd be surprised if they had what I want for the right price - would they??
On the other hand, somewhere like ascent would have the goods, but finance would be expensive.
Is there a happy median??

Any suggestions appreciated.

307082 2004-12-24 04:16:00 It would pay check with Ascent - they will have financing arrangements available, just not the interest free ones you can get at NL, etc. I have set up a lease for a laptop when purchasing from Ascent. wotz (335)
