306684 2004-12-22 04:36:00 Hi guys, I've just completed a Fedora Core 3 install for my dad's PC, he will be using it at school, mainly for music and DVD movies for the kids (teaches a special needs class)

Everything is running well, I just installed the Ogle DVD player and it works good, only problem is I'm not getting the 5.1 audio from the Sound Blaster Live card. I am only getting audio from the 2 front speakers.

I've been googling but haven't come across anything yet which resembles my problem.

Any relevant thoughts or advice will be most welcome.

cheers

Ive not used Ogle recently, but AFAIK it used OSS, not ALSA.

Run: alsamixer
from the command line and it'll let you configure your speaker output. Then as root, run:
alsactl store #0

Enjoy
