307965 2004-12-27 02:58:00 Hey i saw a 40gb Seagata Barracuda ATA III for $30, im just wondering i cudnt find any info on weather it would work with my HP e-Vectra pc?? i dont really know what else to say bout my comp lol any help is great :badpc: oh and also is it worth it? Codex (3761)

307967 2004-12-27 03:28:00 Is this 40 gig hard drive to completely replace your current drive? It looks like the HP e-Vectra is ultra compact and only has room for one hard drive. You can find instructions on replacing the hard drive here (h20000.www2.hp.com). I presume you can remove the actual hard drive out of the drive tray it resides in. Jen (38)

That new price vs second hand is a bit misleading, because the older/smaller drives are disproportionately more expernsive due to their near-obsolescence, which consequently means rarer.

But the $30 price is reasonable.

As far as it fitting - you could get it's dimensions then look atthe size of your existing drive, and make a reasonable assesment as to whether you could fit it in.
