307589 2004-12-26 12:34:00 QMB must have had a trainee,or someone of the street playing in their workshop, its basic to install a cd burner in a pc . :badpc:

They even come with instructions written in english!! :@@:

And you all ways unstall the old apps of the old cd burner first . :groan:

Another reason to learn to do it your self!!!

307590 2004-12-26 12:46:00 Actually, I'll be honest and say I know they talk a lot of corrupt talk there . . . . .

They're good, dont get me wrong, but because half of them dont speak english natively they are able to get away with staring at you with a blank look on their face at times .

. . . Lets just say I have insider information .

Anyways, drivers for that sorta thing are non-existant AFAIK . They should all use ATAPI . See:
. redhat . com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-7 . 1-Manual/getting-started-guide/ch-glossary . html" target="_blank">www . redhat . com

ATAPI

AT Attachment Packet Interface . ATAPI is the protocol by which CD-ROM drives communicate with a computer system over an IDE interface .

The guys there are good and do provide a good service, but they also know that there are some people they can get away with telling that sorta thing, and who will half the time say to them "Well, in that case can you fix it?" .
Ive heard of computers coming back from places loaded with a virus or two . . . Of course "things like that just happen" but my instincts tell me something deeper is at work some times .

I would just say thanks to your friend, and be wary of this sorta thing next time . Your instincts about it being slightly fishy were right Misty!
