| 308074 | 2004-12-27 10:15:00 | Hi, I just bought two Hitachi 80gb hard drives from Supercheap PC in town. When I install either of them in my machine, they just click and the Bios either doesn't detect them or detects them wrongly. I have tried with multiple jumper positions (Master, Slave, CS, 15 Head, 16 Head) to no avail. Whats the chance of two faulty drives? Ash |

| 308077 | 2004-12-27 21:16:00 | Ash, Is this the same unit we were discussing e z bios for. D. No. I've tried in two different PC's. Neither is the old machine. Machine 1) Is a KT-333 M/B, with Athlon XP. Currently running a Seagate 40gb 350W PSU Machine 2) Asus P4S533 M/B running 1.8GHZ P4 Currently running a WD 80gb 300W PSU The Hitachi drives both have odd types of jumpers. I think this may be part of the problem. You can select 16 Head Mode, 15 Head Mode, "Forcing Dev 0", "Forcing Dev 1 Present", "Auto Spin Disable, and more" |
