| 307380 | 2004-12-25 08:26:00 | evening, i have a radeon 9600SE which i got for about 100bucks, its a pretty good card for what i want it to do,it plays the games but not at the max detail of course, that could be something for you, or even a 9200, or a geforce fx 5200, do you have a agp slot? it might pay to check out trademe or pricespy to see the prices or a bargin. what are the specs of your computer? |

| 307383 | 2004-12-25 17:47:00 | My computer has an FX 5100 with 64 megs of ram. It does everything I want it to do so I wont change it. I have a 5200 with 128 megs sitting on my desk that is nowhere near as good. I was going to buy an expensive card but it won't do a thing for me. With my 64 meg card I play with MS Flight Sim 2004 without a hitch. So just buy what you need. I will admit to installing a demo version of Doom 3 to see what it did.It installed OK but when I tried to to run it, it just laughed at me. Wouldn't even load. Jack |
