| 1362087 | 2013-12-09 08:41:00 | I was wondering about who has legal ownership of trophies/medals presented to teams/atheletes/whoever at events when they are representing organisations/groups/schools/etc. I would assume the person/team the trophy was presented to would have legal ownership as opposed to any group which they may be representing but I couldn't find anything on possession law in NZ. Anyone got any ideas? Just a curious thought. | icow (15313) | ||
| 1362088 | 2013-12-09 09:08:00 | You could always try justanswer.com/newzealand-law/ (www.justanswer.com) Personally I would think it would have something to do with what type of Trophies awards etc. When I was doing both speed Skating and Aeromodelling, there were national Trophies, which you had to give back every year, but you got a smaller one to keep. Other events they had Trophies made for the particular event which you keep, team events had one that had to go back yearly, and you kept the medals. Got quite a few that are "keeps" over the years. :2cents: |

But really what do you do with them, they have little relevance to my life now? There was an overlap at one stage, but at different times. :) The Pylon Racing ( F3D models) took over for many years, but then became to expensive (and people think computers are expensive HA! ) If interested, when things like this happen F3D Pylon mid Air (www.youtube.com) -- Kiss away 4-5k in a matter of seconds. Pylon Racers are hard to video due tothe speed they are doing -- the video of them flying is not sped up, they cover the 4KM course in under a minute. Only got 1 left in the workshop. |

In fact several years back I went to the local field at Trentham, one guy I know very well, saw me and said -- Here - passed me the transmitter and walked away, saying its that one - pointing to the model -- Ring it out, it'll take it. So I did :devil Hadn't flown for over 6 years but came back instantly again. After a few minutes the Motor stops - ( Thanks mate) - out of fuel, heard a few gasps - about dead stick, and the guy laughed saying he cant land with the motor going anyway (smart arse was the reply from me :p ) - with Pylon racers, you land them with no motor, so you only get one shot, keeps things interesting. :) Still got Trophies/Medals that you kept. Even the ones from Aussie when competing over there. |
