1361792 2013-12-06 00:57:00 We pass through this world but once
and opportunities you miss
will never be available to you again

In his handwriting, from the front and back inside covers of "Nelson Mandela. By Himself."

This world is a much poorer place today that you have gone, but richer that you were once here. God bless.

Another great quote here.

"No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background,or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."

1361796 2013-12-06 06:20:00 Every white South African I have met considered him a terrorist and having read his book written by himself he pretty much admits it. But he was and always will be an amazing man of peace in later life and I have great respect for what he achieved in the end gary67 (56)

1361798 2013-12-06 06:35:00 Everyone keeps saying this and that is a "game changer" ... Mandala was a "World Changer", SP8's (9836)
1361799 2013-12-07 06:51:00 I’ve watched this expected happening with interest and the thing that strikes me is the hypocrisy being displayed by world leaders. :groan:

For me he had a lot of the traits I admire, but at the end of the day, are the black South Africans better off?

I think not, and this is because I have a number of friends that lived and worked there who tell appalling stories about the place as it now stands. Law and Order I understand is pretty much non existent with murders an every day occurrence.

Hardly the way forward. :groan:
