Close race between them and Novopay I would say.

"Telecom decided to move customers from a troubled "bespoke" system operated by Yahoo, on to Yahoo's main email platform."

"In the new year we are looking at a range of enhanced security measures, such as making a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or [secure protocol] https mandatory for YahooXtra customers," she said.

what the hey is a bespoke'd system ?? are they equating it to old wooden bicycles ? More like square wheels perhaps ?
Im not sure how https/ssl will help at all. If an email a/c gets hacked/cracked, its still hacked even with https/ssl . If your password is stolen , its still a stolen
password with https/ssl .

So just what was the real cause of the issue?
Was it the users fault for opening dodgy emails & clicking on dodgy links, having the PC itself comprimised ??? .... thats not yahoo's fault
Were bots just guessing email passwords?
or was the Email/Yahoo system truely hacked into ?

1361473 2013-12-02 22:02:00 Well my Outlook Xtra mail isn't working at all this morning and a friend texted me he'd recieved a spam from my address.

I suppose I'll have to go to Xtra and change the password - again.

1361475 2013-12-03 00:49:00 what the hey is a bespoke'd system ??

Bespoke is a British word that means a clothing item made to a buyer's specification (personalised or tailored) . While the term historically is applied to only men's tailored clothing, it now generally includes other items .

For most non-clothing items, the term build to order is usually used instead, although the term 'bespoke applications' is often used to refer to custom software built by a company for its own use by a department other than the IT department .

I don't know about those 'dodgy sites' . Winston . ;) Just kidding!!
I had spam email from my daughter who was another caught up in the problem . I didn't click on the link .

Renegade, the same thing happened to me last time, with their warning email arriving after they had locked me out . I had to phone to make the change .

Everyone with a xtra yahoo a/c should assume its been hacked ,even if the a/c hasnt sent out spam.
Then go in & delete all contacts saved in webmail. Delete all sent items saved in webmail. Leave as little in there as possible.
telecom are obvisoulsy distancing themsleves from this dirty mess. We arnt hearing the full storey from official channels
