Sent an email 3 to 4 weeks ago, but have had no response, can log in from elsewhere but not at home. 5342 Just had a look ( being a Mod over there) and you Re NOT banned by user name. looking at the message you posted above for some reason its banned by IP Address. 5343 This could be because you are using a IP that has been used by spammers, or by complete mistake ( which is unlikely as any banning is simply clicked on the IP Address as shown then ban by IP Address) . It can also happen if you happen to be using some sort of program, Browser or Proxy that's linked to past spammers that is actually showing you in another country Eg: the New browser Epic could cause that to happen. http://www.epicbrowser.com/ If you like, PM ME here with your actual IP Address and I'll see why its listed and remove it. You should have had a reply back, - No idea why you didn't, but only the higher up Admins get those mails, not us lonely moderators :( PS: The IP thats needed is the one you actually use from your ISP, and possibly the router if you use one. To get your actual Public IP address go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ That will show what the forums will be detecting. To get the Router IP open a command prompt type in ipconfig that will tell you. |

Which is why I rarely go to PCForums now, and stopped posting the blog. That's about it. All I know is I got an email that orginated from a yahoo! address adressed to me personally. I sat on it a couple of days but took no action other to delete it. I didn't reply to it (the author using an evident non-de-plume / alias), and saw little if any, point in embarking on a witch hunt. I was disappointed more than anything to have been the target of this "hate" mail. I did subsequently remark in a PM to another forum member that the blog seemed hardly missed anyway. That line of thought led me to decide to give it away altogether. In fairness to the community, I did distribute the blog way of an emailed link to the forum page, and the attack may well have originated there. But we'll never know for sure. |
